For those of you who love TSO, this is a must. The album is really like an opera where a story is told song by song. The only thing I wish they would have done different is to have the narrative read between songs instead of having to read it from the CD jacket. If you don't read it when you first play the CD, it might not make sense.
so i bought this one at the same time. i bought two of there cds a the same time. since i like the one song wizards in winter on cd lost xmas. will never do that again just thought the songs would be like the wizards in winter cd lost xmas. did not like this cd either only a few songs where any good unless you are a trans-siberian orchestra person you may not like this cd.
The CD may be great, but I can only review the damaged CD I received and since it is unplayable, then it can only be awarded the lowest grade available. Amazon should not send out visibly damaged goods.
Upon receipt of the damaged CD, I immediately sent Amazon a damaged shipping report on this item and asked for a prompt response. I like Trans-Siberian Orchestra or I would not have ordered this CD, but I have not been able to play the CD since Amazon shipped a visibly damaged CD.
Since the plastic wrap has not been opened, the only place the pieces of plastic could go is inside, scratching the CD and making it unplayable (based on prior experience). Well over 30 days and counting, I have yet to receive a reply from Amazon to my notice of receiving a visibly damaged CD.
It was evidently/visibly damaged prior to shipping as the case is severely cracked & broken and pieces of the black plastic spine are missing. You may think that this review does not belong here, but I did send Amazon a damaged shipping notice more than 30 days ago and have yet to hear from Amazon even though I requested a prompt response, so this is the only other outlet to forewarn others of the shipping problem associated with CDs purchased from Amazon.
This is a review of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra CD that I received, which (CD & Case) were supposed to be new and unbroken.
This album just doesn't seem to be on par with some of their other work. I think that there should have been more thought put into the compositions.
My point is that I would recommend that you sample every song on the album before you buy it. This is an excellent idea for a concept album, and it has some really great songs. However, I do not like some of the ballades like "I'll keep your secrets" and "Who is this Child." It's not that I only like heavy music, its just that I don't like some of TSO's ballades, I think they sound silly and cheesy. If you know someone who has the album, borrow it and listen to the whole thing. If you share my musical tastes, you would be better off just finding the songs you like and downloading them individually rather than buying the whole album.
